Itinerary:

DAY 1 - Sunday

Meeting at Yusufeli and by following the Barhal River that has taken its name from its source proceeding towards the natural trout fish farm, where we'll stop over for lunch. Upon arrival at the Barhal Village, we'll have a free tour in the village and visit the old Georgian Church which has remained from the 10th century and now used as a mosque. Overnight at the pension.

DAY 2 - Monday

Getting prepared for the walks, we'll depart from the pension after breakfast and using the plateau road in the Altiparmak Valley, we'll proceed towards the Naznara Plateau, the first plateau which belongs to the village. After a break in the plateau, we'll go on with the walk and ensue for the second plateau, Amenesket. Surpassing this plateau, we'll arrive at the Karagöl region, which is found on the slope of Karatas (3800 m), the peak of Altiparmak Mountains. Camp at the bank of Karagöl (2850m).

DAY 3 - Tuesday

We'll come back to the camp area after we have ascended for the Damla Lakes. Upon packing up the camp, we'll cross to the Satibe Ridge, which divides the region into two and by using the footpath through the forest; we'll arrive at the Borivan Plateau and camp there.

DAY 4 - Wednesday

After the camp and personal belongings are all packed up, we'll get to the Kelansev District by following the northern road of Altiparmaklar. This district, where we'll stop over, is linked to The Barhal Village. As soon as the break is over, we'll go on walking to reach our camping point Onbolat, the point where the plateaus and the Ayder Trans end.

DAY 5 - Thursday

Departure from the camp and ascending towards the highest lake of the region, Libler Lake (3200 m.) After the short break at the lake, it's time to climb up to the Kirmizi Gedik region (3475 m), the northern border of the Altiparmak Valley. We'll come down using the road on the Kemerli Kaçkar border and arrive at the Avusor Plateau found in the Ayder Region.

DAY 6 - Friday

As soon as the camp is packed up, we'll set off towards the Ayder Plateau. Personal belongings are going to be sent to Ayder by means of vehicles. Accommodation at Ayder.

DAY 7 - Saturday

Departure from Ayder and heading off to Istanbul from Adresen.

 

Spesific Information  Altiparmaklar are the most untouched and unknown mountains of the Eastern Black Sea Mountain Range. Altiparmaklar, which are more precious than Mountain Kaçkar and the other mountains in the region in terms of natural values, are going to enchant you with its plateaus, glacier lakes, high peaks and the mountain goats. In the following years, the Mountain Kaçkar and Hatila Valley National Parks will be combined and Mountain Altiparmaklar will become the world's one of the biggest and most beautiful national parks. Therefore we strongly recommend that you don't miss this tour, which is arranged only once each year.

Transportation: Intercity transportation may be provided by plane or buses. The transfers in the tour are provided by minibuses.
Accommodation: 6 nights pension and tent accommodated.
Activity: Trekking and camp.
Activity time: Starts on Sunday, ends on Saturday. The walks are 4 hours on the 2nd day, 3.5 hours on the 3rd day, 4 hours on the 4th day, 4 hours on the 5th day (free day, it's not obligatory), 3.5 hours on the 6th day. The breaks are not included.
Degree: It's an easy tour. You only need to be healthy.
Equipment: Costless tents, sleeping bags, mat and rucksacks are provided by Turkish Travel. Please provide the personal equipment like a smaller rucksack, a pair of jogging shoes, an extra pair of shoes, raincoat, water bottle, lantern, sunglasses and lotion, hat, beret.
Number of participants: Minimum of 5, maximum of 15 tour members.
