Explore the Hittite Civilization in the Cradle of Civilization DAY 1 YAZILIKAYA - HATTUSAS (Bogazköy) Welcome to our Hittite Sun Tour. Today we'll depart from Ankara for Yazilikaya. Here the first settlement goes back to 1500 BC. Yazilikaya is considered the first known pantheon in Anatolia. The natural rocks formed two galleries calling the big and the small rooms. Here we'll examine the gods' and goddess' reliefs of Hittites. In order to see the reliefs clearly we'll try to visit Yazilikaya around noon. Time to pass Hattusas (Bogazköy) dating back to the Paleolithic era. Hattusas was the capital of the Hittite Civilization so the importance of this site is coming from the masterpieces belonging the Kingdom archives. After lunch we'll visit the museum first then we'll pass the ancient site. Here we'll examine the Great Tomb, Büyükkale, Nisantepe, Sarikale, Kralkapi, Yerikapi and the tunnel, Aslanlikapi, Yenicekale and the city walls. After Hattusas we'll pass the hotel for your rest in Çorum. Check-in at the hotel and just take your time. At night we'll have a special arrangement for your night entertainment for the dinner. [B] [L] [D] DAY 2 ÇORUM - ALACAHÖYÜK Today we'll start with Çorum Museum reflecting the Hittite Civilization in many ways. You'll be the witness of full of historical remnants from many civilizations. We'll introduce you famous wooden houses of Çorum, which are under protection right now, The Ottoman Mosque Ulu Cami and the Clock Tower are the main places to see. Next we'll pass Alacahöyük that is considered one of the important Hittite Site. The history of Alacahöyük goes back to 4000 BC. This ancient city was taken over by The Hittites from Hattians. We'll enter the site from the Sphinx Gate. The ruins in here are mainly from the Empire times. The stunning reliefs, figures, and 13 tombs are the main interest of our Alacahöyük visit. Time to pass the small museum where you can observe the masterpieces from this ancient site. The archaeological treasures are now displayed in the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations. Time to pass Ortaköy hosting a Hittite residence with its 23 rooms. After Ortaköy we'll turn back to Ankara. Check-in at the hotel and please relax. In order to get rid of your tiredness, just behave as Turks do. Drink a samovar tea in Youth Park, we'll invite you the buttered gözleme party with samovar tea in here. Dinner will be served at the hotel. Rest of the night is yours. [B][5 o'clock tea] [D] DAY 3 ANKARA CITY TOUR Our city tour will start with the impressive modern form of Ataturk's Mausoleum, Anitkabir where ancient and modern architectural concepts testifies to the power and grace of Turkish architecture took place. Here we'll examine the great founders' special items and here you'll examine the life of A leader who is respected by the nature. Next we'll pass Museum of Anatolian Civilizations with its priceless collection of Paleolithic, Neolithic, Hatti, Hittite, Phrygian, Urartian and Roman artifacts. Here we'll complete our exploration about Hittites. You'll have the chance to see the masterpieces taken from the ancient sites such as Alacahöyük, Hattusas and Yazilikaya. For lunch well pass to Byzantine Ankara Castle for traditional Zenger Pasha Restaurant. After lunch well proceed for Roman Baths with its Roman structure remain in the center of the city. Temple of Augustus, Rome and the Ethnographical Museum which houses magnificent Seljuk doors of carved wood. Dinner at hotel. [B] [L] [D] DAY 4 END OF OUR SERVICE After breakfast, depart
for your hometown to say home sweet home. Transfer to Esenboga Airport via
special bus service. Time to have your present in order to make this trip
