| Itinerary: | Departing from IZMIR or KUSADASI, you will visit three lonian cities of great importance : Priene was one of the most active ports of the lonian Federation. The city started the tradition of hippodamus (geometrical) type of city planning. Miletos which has provided its alphabeth to the rest of the classical world; was a great port and the hometown of several philosophers and sages. Didyma's Temple of Apollo with its famous oracles and almost the same size with Artemission in Ephesus was one of the most sacred places of antiquity. Although looted and burnt several times, it keeps all the original impression. Not far from the site, impressive beach of Altinkum. Drop to MARMARIS. (L) | |
