THEY DIDN'T SAY IT'S ONLY GRAND COVERED BAZAAR. All the wives of the leaders participating the summit visited Grand Covered Bazaar. Nane Annan, wife of Kofi Annan who is the General Secretary of UN, and Dafne Simitis, wife of Kostas Simitis who is the Prime Minister of Greece were some of the guests… They couldn't stop themselves doing the shopping at gift shops and jewelers. |

ALBRIGHT'S RUG PASSION: During the visit to Grand Covered Bazaar, Albright, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was very much interested in hand woven rugs and she bought three rugs in different shapes. Owner of the shops didn't tell how much she paid for the rugs. Later she visited a jeweler and bought golden earrings, a ring and three pieces of silver fishes by paying 900 USD. She tried the earrings right off. |

THE SEAL OF FATIH'S TO CLINTON: During their visit to Topkapi Museum, President Clinton was given a book About Topkapi Palace, two copies of 'yazma' very special traditional handcraft and the official seal of Fatih Sultan Mehmet as a present by The Ministry of Culture. |
